Description

PEEK CF30 is enhanced with 30% carbon fiber. The compressive strength and stiffness of the material is enhanced. And as a result its expansion rate is dramatically lowered. It is the grade with the optimum wear-resistance and load carrying characteristics. 30% carbon-filled PEEK has greater thermal conductivity than unfilled PEEK. It is made into bearings and allows for more heat dissipation from the bearing surface. Its carbon fiber reinforcement lends the material a high level of rigidity and creep strength. Carbon fiber reinforced PEEK demonstrates very high mechanical strength values, while exhibiting lower density than 30% glass fiber filled peek. Furthermore, carbon fiber composites tend to be less abrasive than glass fibers while simultaneously resulting in improved wear and friction properties. The addition of carbon fibers also ensures a significantly higher level of heat conductivity which is also beneficial for increasing part life in sliding applications.

PEEK can be continuously exposed to hot water or steam with no distortion, corrosion or galling.

Unreinforced PEEK is a general purpose material noted for its high elongation and toughness. Glass fiber-reinforced PEEK offers increased strength, stiffness and stability at high temperatures, while carbon fiber-reinforced PEEK gives designers the benefit of excellent compression strength and stiffness and reduced expansion rates. PEEK is easily machined to precise tolerances.
